Particularly in the dry season a lot of the animals can be seen in this national reserve because the Tarangire river carries water all the year round, and for this reason hippos are be found here too. Herds of buffaloes, zebras and gnus come here to drink, while leopards seem to feel particularly happy in the branches of the numerous baobab trees. Other predators such as lions, hyenas, cheetahs etc may be seen as well as the occasional rhino.
